Experienced partners

BuildCert are Ireland’s leading Building Consultants and have operated both commercially and domestically since 2006. House 2 Home was established in 2013 and has provided thousands of home energy upgrades to Irish customers since its inception. In fact together with Retrofit Ireland, which was established in 2008, the businesses are responsible for designing and completing over 4,300 home energy upgrades.

Creating Jobs Across Ireland

This partnership will result in an expansive network of building contractors, technical assessors and expert installers throughout Ireland. It’s expected to create many jobs in communities throughout the country with a further 30 roles in 2021.

Climate Action Plan

The venture is welcomed by climate activists and governing bodies in Ireland. The government’s climate action plan is ramping up and improving building stock is seen as a key element of that. The National Home Retrofit Scheme dictates that 500,000 homes must be upgraded to a BER b2 or higher by 2030. BuildCert can provide expert BER assessment and consultation to help homeowners achieve this. Retrofit Ireland and House 2 Home are equipped to carry out the necessary works nationwide.

Mark Courtney, managing director of House 2 Home believes that the partnership will benefit homeowners greatly ; “We now have the ability to offer our one stop shop model on a national scale. We design, manage and complete deep retrofit projects from start to finish and even discount SEAI grants up front in many cases. It was always our ambition to provide this service to the country as a whole so we are very excited”.

Brendan Sidney, MD of Retrofit Ireland and BuildCert is equally optimistic about the venture. He said; “Retrofit Ireland and House 2 Home share a quality focused approach to home energy upgrades. The government’s climate action plan is a huge step forward towards a greener future for Ireland. We are delighted to be part of that”.
